Is it safe to use for both clothes and my face?


Yes, but distance is key. For clothes, you can get close (1-2 inches). For your face, stay 15 inches away. This is a high-heat boiler, not a gentle mist, so staying too close can cause steam burns.

Why is hot water leaking or "spitting" from the nozzle?


This is almost always caused by overfilling. If you fill past the "MAX" line, the boiling water has no room to bubble and will splash out the holes. Always leave a small gap at the top.

Can I use it horizontally on a bed or table?

No. This specific model is gravity-fed and must be held upright (vertical). If you tilt it more than 45 degrees, the boiling water will leak out of the steam vents instead of turning into steam.

How do I prevent it from clogging or smelling?


Use distilled or purified water. Tap water contains minerals that create "scale" buildup, which eventually blocks the steam flow. After each use, empty the tank completely so stagnant water doesn't grow mold.
